the prophesy

I can’t resist the challenge of a new set of words. When Eveline chose 15 wonderful words for Etsy’s 85th Trendsetting Treasury Scavenger Hunt game, I had to write a story using all of her words…. Sometimes I just can’t help myself!

Here’s the “story snippet” that I wrote using all of Eveline’s 15 chosen words: lace, peace, love, tree, two, breathe, bird, twilight, tattoo, moon, talisman, flowers, spring, dream, wilderness

“The prophesy”

she stood on the side of the mountain
overlooking the vast WILDERNESS below
in the PEACEFUL lingering glow of TWILIGHT
she BREATHED in the evening chill of early SPRING
a whisper of air fluttered a clump of queen anne’s LACE
the FLOWERS shuttered and swayed

a hawk landed on a nearby TREE
the BIRD was clutching something in its talons
it dropped the object in her path
she picked it up
and examined it
it was a necklace
a TALISMAN for safe passage
the moment was oddly familiar to her

she looked up above at the LOVELY expansive sky
the MOON had quietly risen
as the sun hovered above the horizon
TWO orbs floating in the heavens
one for day, the other for night
she caught her breath as she realized
she had DREAMT of this
the moment had been TATTOOED
upon her brain

the prophesy had begun
and she realized that she was the chosen one
she would be the one who must battle the evil
her outcome would determine the final fate of the land
for good or for evil
