the holiday

this week’s words were from Mariana chosen for the 31st Peppermint Creek Collective Scavenger Hunt Game….

…here’s Mariana’s 15 chosen words:  street, café, walk, thoughts, memoirs, color, view, paper, time, holiday, touch, souvenir, sound, erase, desire…

………and here’s the tale that I told using her words……..can you find where they are embedded in the story snippet below?….

“the holiday”

this was no
ordinary holiday
there was something
quite profound
about the town
she felt
it’s pull
when she first viewed
its medieval spires
and arching stone bridges

she knew
she had walked
it’s streets
when they were
newly laid cobbles
long before
the cars
souvenir shops
and newspaper stands

her mind was
flooded with
from a different

she knew she
had felt desire
so profound
she could not
it’s touch
it’s sound
it’s texture
and color
memoirs that
haunted her
from a past life
long gone
buried so deep
they were
written on
