Memento Mori

…here’s this week’s words…..

…….from Iva in the Peppermint Creek Collective Scavenger Hunt Game:
………..secret, meeting, night, ring, silver, shadow, silhouette, glisten, danger, dagger, betrayal, grief, mystery, stranger, memento mori….

………….and here’s the story that I wrote, using Iva’s 15 words………….

“Memento Mori”

she always felt safer
wrapped within
the dark cloak of midnight
as the silver slivers
of moonlight
scattered daggers
which flickered
and glistened
upon the calm waters
of the lake

as the moon cast
a shivering
upon the waters
touched by a slip of breeze
the lunar silhouette
of the ethereal ring

she could look deeply
into her soul
when no one else
was looking
she was able to
the danger
the betrayal
and the grief
that she was
a stranger to
in the happy brightness
of the daylight hours

she was able to sit
the mystery
of her limited life
to exalt within
the expanse of her immortality

in her secret meeting
with herself
to ponder
the ultimate
and the infinite
to explore
the secrets
of life
of death
and the meaning of
Memento Mori

A unique use of words that really pull you into the meaning and artistry of the links you’re showcasing. They create a world for Momento Mori perfectly.
