La Boheme

…this week’s words came from Mariana in the Peppermint Creek Collective’s Scavenger Hunt Game.

…here’s Mariana’s 15 wonderful words: steps, breath, wind, incomparably,  freedom,  ignore, mountains, cope,  latex, be, keep silent, wild, behold,  La Boheme, masks

………..and here’s the treasury and story….can you find where each of the words are located in this snippet of a tale…

“La Boheme”

behind the everyday masks
that she wore
in public
behind the strained stretch
of her latex smiles
she had a deep need
for freedom

lb1

a yearning to break free
of her carefully placed steps
a yearning
to skip
to sway
to tap her toes
to simply dance
in harmony with the melodies of life
whenever it moved
her

lb2

a yearning that grew
as magnificent and expansive
as a passionate operatic strain from La Boheme
a deep desire that she could no longer
ignore

lb3

a yearning
to climb mountains
a yearning
to feel the breath of the wild wind
upon her face
a yearning
to scream, to cry, to smile a true smile
a yearning
to be
incomparably real

lb4

a yearning not to
simply cope
or to
keep silent
but to
wake up
live fully
and behold
the extraordinary
truth
of who
she truly
was

  1. Beautiful words. Even in repetition, I find this poetry absolutely stunning and interesting to read
