finding the fairy tale

…the wonderful words for this week’s story snippet came from Patty in the Peppermint Creek Collective’s 52nd Scavenger Hunt Game….

….here’s Patty’s wonderful words:
queen, ocean, wood, tulip, mist, stained glass, stars, old, enchanted, silk, ruby, path, round, lamp, sparkle

…….and here’s the story snippet that I wrote using her words….can you find where each word is embedded in the tale?…

“finding the fairy tale”

it was an old tale told
when she was a small child
she remembered it vaguely
like a elusive fading dream
in bits and pieces

something about
a queen who lived in round castle
with a terrace overlooking the ocean
and an enchanted garden filled with blood red tulips
the color of rubies
sparkling with magic

something about
finding a lost path to a mysterious wood
hidden in a magical mist
which was as soft as silk

something about a powerful secret ancient prophesy
with clues hidden within
the elaborate design
of a stained glass window
and a map guided by
an expanse stars

as the oil burned low
and the clock struck the midnight hour
she went round and round
the library trying to find
the book that held
that tale told
so long
as child it was just a tale
as an adult it was the key
to saving the kingdom

she did remember
that the tale told
that she didn’t have much time…
