Paris

This week the words came from LeeAnn in the 79th Peppermint Creek Collective Scavenger Hunt Game

Here’s LeeAnn’s lovely words: pink, chocolate, peony, tea/coffee, intellectual, woman, whirling, champagne, bokeh, diamond, evening romance, dance, kiss, Paris, water…

And here’s the story snippet that I wrote using her words…

“Paris”

she was an intellectual woman
except when she thought of Paris
her memories
filled her mind
like the blush
of her evening romance

it began
with a simple dance
gliding across the stone floor
whirling
swirling
with the rise
and fall of each measure
her pink petticoat rustling
ruffled like peony

it ended with
a long late night kiss
she could still taste the chocolate
and a bit of champagne
on his lips

the city lights sparkling
on the water of the river Seine
like a thousand diamonds

in the morning
over coffee
she would remember
each out of focus image
a set of precious bokehs
each and
every
one
